| Obverse description | Floriate cross with alternating lions and firesteels in the quadrants, struck in high relief on an irregular hammered flan. The peripheral legend in Latin runs clockwise, with the date, when present, appearing at the end of the inscription. The field is plain, and the overall style is characteristic of Spanish Netherlands provincial gold coinage of the late sixteenth century. |
