| Beschrijving keerzijde | Central device comprises the royal arms of England in a quartered shield, displaying the fleurs-de-lis of France in the first and fourth quarters and the lions passant guardant of England in the second and third quarters, surmounted by an imperial crown. The shield is set within a beaded inner circle, with a circumscribed Latin legend recording the king's full royal titles running around the outer field. The bold, deeply engraved heraldic devices are typical of the hammered gold coinage produced at the London Mint during the posthumous issue struck under the regency of Edward VI. |
