Aanvullende informatie

Issued to mark the 1999 Island Games held on Gotland, Sweden, this crown is one of several athletic-themed pieces the Isle of Man Treasury produced for the biennial multi-sport event that the island itself founded in 1984. The Games grew from a proposal by Isle of Man Sports Council official Arthur Bell, originally conceived as a small competition for island territories excluded from mainstream international sport.

KM#930a denotes the silver variant; a cupro-nickel version was struck simultaneously for general circulation.
