The D-Day 70th anniversary provided a crowded field for commemorative issuers in 2014, with dozens of mints and territories producing similar pieces. Gold-plated copper-nickel strikes of this type were produced in quantity and distributed through dealer networks, not through any connection the territory had to the events being commemorated.
