Reverse description The reverse depicts the heraldic achievement of the College of Arms in finely detailed relief at the centre of the field: a quartered shield bearing the cross of St George and doves, supported by a crowned lion rampant to the dexter and a lion rampant to the sinister, with a heraldic bird displayed as the crest above a royal crown. A scroll below the shield bears the motto DILIGENT AND SECRET. The design is encircled by a decorative chain border, with the commemorative legend QUINCENTENARY OF THE COLLEGE OF ARMS arcing across the upper field, flanked by the founding and anniversary dates 1484 and 1984, and the denomination ONE CROWN inscribed along the lower field.
