| Beschrijving voorzijde | The obverse bears the mature effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II facing right, rendered in relief against a plain field. The portrait is consistent with the fourth definitive effigy used on Commonwealth coinage. The issuer name TRISTAN DA CUNHA appears in the surrounding legend, along with the Queen's title. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
Tristan da Cunha, a British Overseas Territory in the South Atlantic, holds a geographic footnote in the Battle of the Atlantic: its surrounding waters were patrolled as part of the broader effort to suppress German surface raiders and U-boats operating in the South Atlantic from 1939 onward. The island's nearest neighbor in strategic terms was the supply route between the Cape of Good Hope and the UK, which German vessels actively targeted. Whether that proximity justifies a commemorative issue is a question the market has largely answered — gold-plated copper-nickel crowns of this type are produced in quantity by the Pobjoy Mint for collector sales, with negligible circulation on the island itself.
