Obverse description Right-facing draped military bust of Friedrich August I, King of Saxony, wearing a high-collared uniform without epaulettes and adorned with a starburst order at the chest. The effigy is rendered in fine neoclassical style with naturalistically detailed hair. A Latin circular legend surrounds the portrait, separated from the beaded border by a flat rim. The field is plain and unadorned, with the truncation of the bust falling near the lower quarter of the coin.
