| Obverse description | Right-facing draped military bust of Friedrich August I, King of Saxony, wearing a high-collared uniform without epaulettes and adorned with a starburst order at the chest. The effigy is rendered in fine neoclassical style with naturalistically detailed hair. A Latin circular legend surrounds the portrait, separated from the beaded border by a flat rim. The field is plain and unadorned, with the truncation of the bust falling near the lower quarter of the coin. |

| Reverse description | Crowned elaborately mantled coat of arms of the Kingdom of Saxony, quartered with the arms of multiple territories and bearing the crossed swords emblem of the Wettin dynasty. The crowned shield is flanked by decorative drapery and set within a circular Latin legend. The date 1816 and the mintmaster's initials IGS appear in the exergue or lower field below the shield, with the standard fineness inscription completing the legend. |
