Obverse description Central device features a stylized imperial phoenix (bonghwang) displayed with wings spread, rendered in high relief within a beaded inner circle. The regal bird, a traditional symbol of the Korean imperial house, is depicted in dynamic pose with elaborate tail feathers and cloud scrollwork at its base. The Hanja reign-era legend and Hangul denomination legend are arranged around the periphery outside the beaded border, with the Latin denomination '1 CHON' inscribed along the lower margin. Raised dots serve as separators between the legend elements in the outer field.
