Obverse description A draped allegorical figure of Liberty seated facing right upon a low platform, holding aloft a lit torch in her raised right hand and resting her left hand upon a tablet of laws inscribed with text, symbolizing the Reform Laws of Juárez. To her left stands a fasces bound with cord, evoking civic authority and republican virtue. The circumferential legend reads LIBERTAD Y REFORMA, divided by two pellets at left and right, with the engraver's name PAREDES incused along the lower exergue beneath the platform.
