1 Cent - Victoria

Descrizione del dritto	Diademed and draped bust of Queen Victoria facing left, her hair swept back and arranged in a chignon secured with a ribbon, wearing an ornate jewelled diadem. The portrait, engraved by Leonard Charles Wyon, is rendered in fine detail with naturalistic hair treatment characteristic of the Young Head type. The circular legend reads VICTORIA QUEEN along the periphery, with a beaded border surrounding the field.

Descrizione del rovescio	The numeral 1 occupies the centre of the reverse within a raised beaded inner circle, with the legend MAURITIUS arching across the upper periphery and ONE CENT along the lower periphery, flanked by small ornamental dots at either side. The date appears to the right of the inner circle, reading vertically. A plain field surrounds the central numeral within the beaded circle, and a toothed border frames the entire design.
