| Obverse description | Diademed and draped bust of Queen Victoria facing left, her hair swept back and arranged in a chignon secured with a ribbon, wearing an ornate jewelled diadem. The portrait, engraved by Leonard Charles Wyon, is rendered in fine detail with naturalistic hair treatment characteristic of the Young Head type.
