Obverse description Diademed and draped bust of Queen Victoria facing left, her hair swept back and arranged in a chignon secured with a ribbon, wearing an ornate jewelled diadem. The portrait, engraved by Leonard Charles Wyon, is rendered in fine detail with naturalistic hair treatment characteristic of the Young Head type. The circular legend reads VICTORIA QUEEN along the periphery, with a beaded border surrounding the field.
