Reverse description The reverse displays four large Chinese characters arranged symmetrically around the central round hole, reading '一百之分' (meaning 'one hundredth'), with the legend 'INDO-CHINE FRANÇAISE' inscribed along the outer periphery in Latin script. A beaded inner circle frames the Chinese characters, and the date '1931' is struck in the lower exergue between two pellets. The design is clean and typographically bold, reflecting the standard colonial format used for French Indochina cent coinage.

Additional information

In 1931, the Monnaie de Paris produced a series of pattern coinage for French Indochina exploring alternative compositions and denominations that were never adopted for circulation. This piece — silver-plated bronze — represents one of several compositional trials documented under the Lecompte reference series, with Lec#95b distinguishing it from related bronze and aluminum variants struck in the same program.

French Indochina's cent denominations were ultimately struck in bronze without plating.
