A tall, detailed palm tree dominates the center of the field, rising from a coastal landscape that includes low-lying vegetation, a sailing vessel, and what appears to be a cannon at lower right, evoking the Liberian shoreline. The denomination ONE CENT is arranged vertically on either side of the palm trunk, reading left and right respectively. The date 1866 appears in the lower exergual area, with a small dot to its right. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded border. |
