Beschrijving voorzijde	Left-facing draped bust of Liberty wearing a liberty cap adorned with a prominent five-pointed star at center and a ball finial at the apex, with curly hair falling to the neck. A small five-pointed star appears at the bottom of the field. The circumferential legend REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA runs along the left periphery in upright Latin characters, framed by a continuous beaded border.

Beschrijving keerzijde	A tall, detailed palm tree dominates the center of the field, rising from a coastal landscape that includes low-lying vegetation, a sailing vessel, and what appears to be a cannon at lower right, evoking the Liberian shoreline. The denomination ONE CENT is arranged vertically on either side of the palm trunk, reading left and right respectively. The date 1866 appears in the lower exergual area, with a small dot to its right. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded border.
