Reverse description Central device comprising a sprig of two detailed maple leaves on a common stem, rendered in high relief with finely engraved veining, as designed by George Kruger Gray whose initials 'K·G' appear to the right of the stem in the field. The denomination '1 CENT' is inscribed in the upper field above the maple leaves, while the date appears to the lower left of the central device and the issuing country name 'CANADA' arcs along the lower periphery. The entire design is contained within a toothed denticle border.
