| 背面描述 | Central field bears the denomination 'ONE CENT' inscribed on two lines within an open wreath of laurel branches, tied at the base with a ribbon bow. The country name 'SARAWAK' arcs along the upper periphery in evenly spaced capital letters, while the date appears in the lower exergual area beneath the wreath. The entire design is enclosed within a finely executed dentilated border consistent with Heaton Mint production standards of the period. |

Charles Brooke inherited Sarawak from his uncle James in 1868, becoming the second White Rajah of a private kingdom that had no formal connection to the British Crown — a colonial anomaly that made its coinage equally peculiar. These bronzes were produced at the Heaton Mint in Birmingham, which struck the majority of Sarawak's 19th-century issues under contract.
The series spans over two decades, and earlier dates within the run command a measurable premium. The 1870 issue in particular was struck in limited quantity relative to later years.
