The characters are rendered in the distinctive structured, flat-topped strokes characteristic of clerical script calligraphy, as employed during the Yuanfu reign period (1098–1100) of Emperor Zhezong of the Northern Song Dynasty. A plain outer rim borders the coin's circumference. The surfaces display typical casting texture consistent with Northern Song iron cash production. |
