| 正面铭文 | 咸通豐寶 (Translation: Xian Feng Tong Bao — Xianfeng (Emperor) / Universal currency) |
| 背面描述 | Two Manchu script characters are cast in relief on either side of the central square perforation, reading vertically and separated by the hole: 'Boo' (ᠪᠣᠣ) to the left and 'Yuwan' (ᡠᠸᠠᠨ) to the right, together denoting the mint name 'Boo-yuwan' (Board of Works Mint). The characters are rendered in the standard Manchu script used on Qing dynasty cash reverses, set within a flat, unornamented field bounded by raised inner and outer rims. The casting is slightly less crisp than the obverse, consistent with the auxiliary and branch furnace production methods of the period. |
