The reign title inscription 咸豐通寶 (Xianfeng Tongbao) occupies the four quadrants of the obverse field, with 咸 at top, 寶 at bottom, 通 at right, and 豐 at left relative to the hole. The characters are raised in relief against a flat, unadorned field, bordered by an inner and outer rim typical of Qing dynasty cast coinage. The coin exhibits heavy surface corrosion consistent with its iron composition and age. |
