| Reverse description | The reverse displays two Manchu script characters flanking the central square perforation, reading vertically from top to bottom. The Manchu word ᠪᠣᠣ (Boo) appears to the right of the hole and ᡷᡳ (Jyi) to the left, together identifying the Zhili (Baoding) mint. The characters are cast in shallow relief and show significant iron oxidation and surface encrustation. The field is otherwise plain, bounded by a raised inner square rim around the perforation and a plain outer rim. |
