Obverse description Central square perforation surrounded by a plain raised rim on both inner and outer edges, with four Chinese characters in Regular script (Kaishu) arranged in cruciform fashion around the central hole, reading clockwise from the top: 天 (Tian), 禧 (Xi), 通 (Tong), 寶 (Bao). The characters are boldly cast in relief against a flat field, exhibiting the characteristic brushstroke fidelity of Northern Song calligraphic coinage. The outer rim is broad and well-defined, consistent with standard Northern Song cash coin typology.
