Aanvullende informatie

The "Yi Guo Tang Guo Shou" cash pieces occupy a genuinely contested corner of Vietnamese numismatic scholarship. The designation "Yi Guo" — roughly "foreign state" — has prompted longstanding debate over whether these were struck by the Vietnamese court itself for tribute or border-trade purposes, or produced by Chinese merchants operating outside official mint sanction during the fractured Lê dynasty period. The Nguyen lords in the south and Trinh lords in the north maintained effectively separate monetary systems through this period, and attribution to either apparatus remains unresolved.
