| Beschrijving voorzijde | Cast tin cash coin featuring four Chinese ideograms arranged in the traditional manner around a central square perforation, read top to bottom and right to left. The characters 史丹利寶 (Shi Dan Li Bao) are boldly rendered in the field, one character positioned at each cardinal point relative to the square hole. The legends are cast in moderate relief with a somewhat rough surface texture characteristic of Palembang tin coinage. No inner or outer rim is present beyond the natural border of the flan, and the field is otherwise plain. The overall style closely follows the convention of Chinese cash coins adapted for Malay sultanate usage. |
