| Obverse description | Round bronze cash coin with a central square perforation surrounded by a raised inner rim. Four Chinese seal-script (zhuanshu) ideograms are disposed in the four quadrants around the central hole, reading clockwise from the top: 紹 (Shao), 聖 (Sheng), 元 (Yuan), 寶 (Bao), together forming the reign-era legend 'Shaosheng Yuanbao.' The characters are rendered in a refined, curvilinear seal script style characteristic of Northern Song imperial coinage, set in moderate relief against a flat field. A plain outer rim borders the coin's circumference. |

| Reverse description | Plain and uninscribed reverse, exhibiting the characteristic flat field of a uniface Northern Song cash coin. The central square perforation is framed by a slightly raised inner rim, with a smooth outer rim encircling the periphery. No legends, symbols, or mint marks are present. The surface shows natural bronze patination consistent with cast Song-dynasty coinage. |
