| Opis awersu | Cast brass cash coin with a central square hole flanked by four Chinese characters in regular script (kaishu), arranged in cruciform reading order: top to bottom and right to left. The reign title 康熙通寶 (Kāngxī Tōngbǎo) occupies the four quadrants of the obverse field, with 康 (Kāng) at the top, 熙 (Xī) at the right, 通 (Tōng) at the left, and 寶 (Bǎo) at the bottom. The characters are boldly raised against a flat, unadorned field, consistent with the casting conventions of the Qing dynasty Board of Revenue and provincial mints. A plain raised rim borders the outer edge, and a similarly raised inner rim frames the square perforation. The workmanship reflects standard provincial mint production of the Kangxi era. |
