正面描述 Round cast brass cash coin featuring a central square perforation bordered by a raised square rim. The four-character reign legend 康熙通寶 (Kangxi Tongbao) is arranged in the traditional cruciform reading order — top, bottom, right, left — in regular script (kaishu), with 康 above and 寶 below the central aperture, and 通 to the right and 熙 to the left. The characters are rendered in bold relief against a flat field, separated by the square hole. The coin is bound by a plain outer rim, consistent with standard Qing dynasty cast coinage.

附加信息

The Gui/Gui variety places this cash at the Guilin mint in Guangxi province — the doubling of the mint mark above and below the central hole indicating both the province and the specific casting facility. Guilin was one of several provincial mints reopened or reorganized in the early Kangxi reign as the court consolidated control following the chaotic final years of the Shunzhi emperor and the suppression of the Three Feudatories rebellion, which devastated southern Chinese commerce well into the 1670s.

Hartill 22.105 is not a difficult type to find, but genuine examples from Guilin show a characteristic brass alloy noticeably yellower than contemporary Board of Revenue issues.
