The overall die execution is typical of Five Dynasties period provincial casting, with broad, somewhat irregular strokes characteristic of lead alloy production. |

A single Chinese character, 坊 (Fang), is placed above the square hole in regular script (kaishu), serving as a mint or workshop identifier denoting Fangzhou in Fujian province. The remainder of the reverse field is featureless, with no additional marks, rims, or decorative elements. The surface shows characteristic granular texture and patination consistent with a lead alloy casting of the Five Dynasties period. |
