| Reverse description | Cast reverse with a central square perforation surrounded by a flat, largely plain field. A single Chinese character, 坊 (Fang), is placed above the square hole in regular script (kaishu), serving as a mint or workshop identifier denoting Fangzhou in Fujian province. The remainder of the reverse field is featureless, with no additional marks, rims, or decorative elements. The surface shows characteristic granular texture and patination consistent with a lead alloy casting of the Five Dynasties period. |
