The characters are boldly cast in raised relief against a flat field, with a plain inner rim encircling the square aperture and a raised outer rim defining the coin's circumference. The overall style is consistent with locally produced rebel-issue cast coinage of the mid-nineteenth century, exhibiting characteristic irregularities in casting quality. |
