Obverse description Central square perforation surrounded by a plain raised rim on both inner and outer edges. Four Chinese characters in regular script (kaishu) arranged in cruciform fashion around the central hole, reading clockwise from the top: 乾 (Càn), 符 (Phù), 元 (Nguyên), 寶 (Bảo). The characters are cast in raised relief within a flat, unadorned field. The coin exhibits typical Lý dynasty casting style with moderately bold, well-defined strokes.
