(Translation: Karl Albert, Deo Gratia, Duke of both Bavarias and the Upper Palatinate, Count Palatine of the Rhine, Archdapifer and Elector of S.R.I., Landgrave of Leuchtenberg.)
Reverse description Two allegorical figures seat together in the central field: the Virgin Mary, nimbed and crowned, holds the Christ Child at left, while a second robed figure bearing a long sceptre or lance leans against an elaborate quartered heraldic shield of Bavaria at right. The Bavarian arms — displaying the lozengy field, the Palatinate lion, and additional quarterings — are prominently rendered in fine relief. The mint date 1732 appears in the lower exergue below a ground line, and the surrounding Latin motto legend reads CLYPEVS OMNIBVS IN TE SPERANTIBVS, meaning 'You are a shield to all who trust in You,' separated at top and sides by the figures. A toothed milled border frames the entire design.
