At the upper portion, a vignette of Daikoku, the deity of fortune, is shown seated atop two cylindrical rice bales, his large treasure bag at his side — a traditional auspicious motif employed on Edo-period merchant exchange notes. The denomination and exchange pledge appear in bold brushwork characters arranged vertically in the central and lower fields, accompanied by red seal impressions of the issuing office. |

The overall surface shows the characteristic texture of handmade Japanese paper with visible laid lines. |
