Obverse description Black intaglio print on white cotton paper. The central field is divided into two ornate guilloche medallions, each bearing the numeral '1', flanked by intricate lathe-work borders. The upper arc carries the bank title 'EL BANCO DE LA NACION BOLIVIANA' in a curved banner, with the place of issue 'LA PAZ.' at upper left and the date '11 de Mayo de 1911' at upper right. The lower margin bears the denomination legend 'UN BOLIVIANO' between decorative rosettes, the series designation 'Serie B 1' at both lower corners, and the printer's imprint 'CARTIERE PIETRO MILIANI - FABRIANO (ITALIA)' at the very foot of the note.

Reverse description Printed in green intaglio, the reverse is dominated by a large central blank oval medallion surrounded by dense, symmetrical guilloche lacework. Flanking the central oval are two ornamental cartouches, each containing the numeral '1', set within elaborate floral and scrollwork underprint patterns that fill the entire field. The bank name 'BANCO DE LA NACION BOLIVIANA' is rendered in two arched legend lines at the top and bottom of the design, with the printer's imprint 'OFFICINA CARTE VALORI FILIPOV LOMBARDI & C. - MILANO' at the lower margin.
