Reverse description Central device depicts the Lion of Judah passant to the right, with its right foreleg raised, wearing an imperial crown and carrying a processional cross-staff. The lion, a traditional symbol of Ethiopian imperial authority and the Solomonic dynasty, is rendered in bold relief against a plain field. A circular Ge'ez legend surrounding the design reads 'Conquering Lion of the Tribe of Judah, One Birr,' referencing the biblical and imperial iconography central to the Ethiopian monarchy. The design is enclosed by a raised rim, with fine milled borders consistent with Paris Mint production standards of the era.
