His bearded face is rendered with fine portraiture, and a ruffled collar is visible at the base of the bust. The legend VASCO NUÑEZ DE BALBOA arcs along the upper and right periphery in large capital letters. The date 1982 is inscribed in the lower exergue beneath the portrait. |
