| Reverse description | Central device depicts the Royal Cypher of King Rama X — the stylised Thai numeral ๑๐ set within an ornate floral scroll design in the traditional Thai lacework (lai thai) style — surmounted by a spired Thai royal crown with radiating rays of light emanating from its apex. Below the central device, the denomination is inscribed as ๑ บาท 1 in both Thai numerals and Arabic numeral, with บาท (Baht) in Thai script between them. The legend ประเทศไทย (Thailand) curves along the left rim, and the Buddhist Era date พ.ศ. ๒๕๖๑ (or relevant year) appears along the right rim, all in Thai script. |

| Additional information |
Rama X — Vajiralongkorn — ascended the throne in December 2016 following the death of his father Bhumibol Adulyadej, but Thai coinage bearing his portrait was delayed while the country observed a one-year mourning period. The 2018 start date on this series reflects that gap. Thailand has a long-standing practice of issuing multiple portrait types across a reign, so this "1st portrait" designation is a cataloging distinction that will matter more once subsequent types accumulate.
