| 表面の説明 | A boar depicted in profile, facing right, rendered in low relief typical of early central Italian aes grave casting. The animal's bristled dorsal ridge and sturdy body are modeled with archaic stylization, occupying the central field of the flan. The surface displays the characteristic granular texture of a sand-cast bronze piece. No legend or inscription is present. The irregular flan edges and rough fields reflect the primitive casting technique of the Tarquinian mint. |

| 裏面の説明 | A recumbent or reclining boar depicted in low relief, facing right, rendered in the archaic Etruscan artistic tradition characteristic of Tarquinian aes grave issues. The figure occupies the central field of the heavily textured, sand-cast flan, with the animal's elongated body and legs visible in schematic form. A raised ridge or ground line appears beneath the figure. The field is rough and pitted, consistent with the casting method employed. No inscriptions or mint marks are present. |

Tarquinii was an Etruscan city already in sharp political decline by the mid-third century BC, its independence increasingly nominal under Roman pressure following the wars of the fourth century. These heavy cast bronzes were produced during what was effectively the city's final phase of autonomous monetary production — Rome would render such local issues obsolete within a generation. The survival of examples at this weight reflects burial or hoarding rather than extended circulation.
