| Obverse description | A boar depicted in profile, facing right, rendered in low relief typical of early central Italian aes grave casting. The animal's bristled dorsal ridge and sturdy body are modeled with archaic stylization, occupying the central field of the flan. The surface displays the characteristic granular texture of a sand-cast bronze piece. No legend or inscription is present. The irregular flan edges and rough fields reflect the primitive casting technique of the Tarquinian mint. |
