The portrait is set within an intaglio-engraved surround typical of De La Rue production, with guilloche underprint patterns and denomination inscriptions flanking the central image. Issuing authority and territorial designations appear in letterpress along the upper and lower margins. |

Circular guilloche rosettes bearing the numeral "1" occupy the left and right panels, while an elaborate acanthus and scrollwork border frames the entire composition in deep green intaglio.
