| Description de l’avers | Central vignette portrays Diogo Cão (c. 1452–c. 1486), the Portuguese explorer renowned for his voyages along the west coast of Africa during the Age of Discovery, including the exploration of the Congo River and the coasts of present-day Angola and Namibia. The portrait is set within an intaglio-engraved surround typical of De La Rue production, with guilloche underprint patterns and denomination inscriptions flanking the central image. Issuing authority and territorial designations appear in letterpress along the upper and lower margins. |

| Description du revers | The central vignette presents an intaglio-engraved bust portrait of a giant sable antelope (Hippotragus niger variani), the emblematic fauna of Angola, set within an oval frame and flanked by classical columns with acanthus scroll ornamentation. Circular guilloche rosettes bearing the numeral "1" occupy the left and right panels, while an elaborate acanthus and scrollwork border frames the entire composition in deep green intaglio.
