Obverse description Central field occupied by the Shi'ia Kalima in bold Arabic script, arranged in multiple registers across the flan. The legend reads the Islamic declaration of faith with the Shi'ia addition acknowledging Ali as the friend of God. The inscription fills the entire field in the characteristic Safavid nasta'liq-influenced calligraphic style, with the text flowing across a roughly circular, irregularly shaped hammered flan. The coin exhibits the typical fabric of Safavid silver coinage, with slightly ragged edges and a granular surface.
