The upper register carries the devotional phrase proclaiming the issuer's servitude to Shah Safi, while the lower register records the mint name Hamadan. The inscription fills the entire coin surface, with the deeply struck characters showing pronounced relief typical of Safavid hammered coinage. The inscription occupies the entire coin surface with vigorous, deeply incised strokes characteristic of Safavid religious coinage. The flan edges are irregular, consistent with hand-struck production at a provincial mint. |
