| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse displays a multi-line Persian poetic royal inscription in elegant Nastaliq script, naming Shah Abbas II with his honorific title 'Sahebqerani' (Lord of the Auspicious Conjunction), accompanied by the mint name Shemakhi (شماخی) and the AH regnal date 1055. The legend is arranged in horizontal registers across the flan, with the mint name and date occupying the lower portion of the field. The hammered fabric produces a slightly irregular flan edge, consistent with hand-struck Safavid production. A dotted or linear border frames the inscription on certain specimens. |
