| 正面描述 | Central field bears a Persian legend in Arabic script arranged in multiple lines, reading the imperial titulature of Shah Alam II: 'Sikka zad bar haft kishwar saya fazl Ilah Hami ud-din Muhammad Shah Alam Badshah' (He who has struck coin over the seven climes, Shadow of divine grace, Defender of the faith Muhammad Shah Alam, Emperor), accompanied by the AH regnal date. Due to the small flan size relative to the die, the legend is largely off-flan, with only partial inscriptions visible at center. The style is characteristic of Mughal-derived calligraphic die work as employed at the Murshidabad mint under the Bengal Presidency. |
