| Beschrijving keerzijde | A long voided cross extends from the center to the coin's edge, dividing the field into four quarters and passing through an inner pearled circle. Each quarter contains an initial letter representing one of the four principal minting cities of the Duchy of Gelre: A for Arnhem, N for Nijmegen, R for Roermond, and S for Zutphen (Sutphen). A circular legend in uncial Latin script occupies the outer border, partially legible on account of the irregular hammered flan. The design follows the standard type of Burgundian-influenced Low Countries small coinage of the mid-fifteenth century. |
