Obverse description Left-facing laureate and draped bust of George II within a beaded border, his long curled wig rendered in fine detail with the hair falling to the shoulder. The mint-master's initials C.P.S. appear in the lower field beneath the truncation. The encircling legend reads GEOR II D G M BR F & H REX F D, identifying the king by title in abbreviated Latin.

Reverse description Four crowned heraldic shields arranged in cruciform fashion, displaying the royal arms of England-Scotland (quarterly), France (fleurs-de-lis), Ireland (harp), and Brunswick-Lüneburg-Hannover respectively. At the centre of the composition the denomination 1/6 is displayed, surrounded by the fineness inscription FE IN SI LB (an abbreviation of Feinsilber, denoting pure silver). A large crown at the top of the design divides the date 1727. The encircling legend BR & L DUX S R I A T & EL runs along the rim within a beaded border.
