| Obverse description | Armored and draped bust of Philip II facing right, wearing a ruffled collar and elaborately detailed pauldrons, occupying the central field. The regnal date is divided by a cross and appears below the bust. The peripheral legend in Latin runs along the inner border, separated from the beaded outer rim. The portrait is rendered in the characteristic late Renaissance style typical of Habsburg Netherlands hammered coinage. |

The badge of the Order of the Golden Fleece hangs below the shield on a jeweled collar. At each lateral arm of the cross, a firesteel with radiating sparks is depicted, emblems of the Burgundian dynasty.
