| Obverse description | St. Mark standing to left, vested in ecclesiastical robes, presenting a staff surmounted by a cross to the kneeling Doge at right, who receives it with hands outstretched in submission. The word DVX appears vertically in the central field between the two figures. The peripheral Latin legend naming Doge Alvise Mocenigo and St. Mark as patron of Venice runs along the outer border. The composition follows the traditional Venetine investiture type employed on the Zecchino series. |
